About J. Sinicki Photography

My name is Josh Sinicki, and I am a proud Colorado native with a deep-rooted connection to the outdoors. Growing up amidst the stunning landscapes and wildlife of Colorado, I developed a profound love for nature—an appreciation that naturally led me to photography. From a young age, I was constantly outdoors, exploring the beauty of the world around me, which laid the foundation for my lifelong passion for capturing those moments through the lens.

Photography first became a serious pursuit for me in high school, where I enrolled in my first photography class. It was there that I discovered not only a deep passion for the craft but also the limitless potential that photography held for capturing both the grand and subtle beauty of the world. Over the past 20+ years, I’ve had the privilege of capturing a wide range of subjects—from the high-energy Winter X Games in Aspen to the awe-inspiring Falcon 9 rocket launch at the Kennedy Space Center. Each project has pushed me to continuously refine my skills and grow as a photographer.

The saying, "If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life," resonates deeply with me. When I’m behind the camera, I’m in my element. It’s not just a job—it’s a passion that fuels my creativity and drives me to continually improve my craft.

In 2016, I began the journey of transitioning my photography into a full-fledged business. What started as a hobby—creating calendars as personal gifts and selling a few prints—has gradually grown into a true business. Over the past nine years, I’ve expanded my offerings, transitioning from small-scale projects to selling prints and taking on portraiture work. My goal is to continue growing the business, creating new opportunities for myself, and eventually offering photography classes and workshops for aspiring photographers. I want to pass on the knowledge I’ve gathered through experience and the guidance of mentors, helping others grow their passion and skill in photography.

When I’m out in the field with my camera, I feel truly at peace. One of my greatest sources of inspiration has been a book I’ve kept on my coffee table since childhood, which features photographs taken by W.H. Jackson in 1870 and then by John Fielder in 2000. Comparing the dramatic changes in the landscapes captured by these two photographers made me realize that no two moments in nature are ever the same. This is why I make it a point to visit places like Rocky Mountain National Park at least twice a year—each visit offers new opportunities to capture the ever-changing scenery and wildlife.

As my journey in photography continues, I’ve set my sights on capturing even more of the world’s most breathtaking landscapes and wildlife. I have a list of dream locations I hope to one day photograph, places that will allow me to expand my portfolio and continue to push my creative boundaries.

In addition to my photography excursions, I’ve been committed to improving my skills through workshops and continued education. Currently, I shoot with a Nikon D750, but I plan to expand my gear collection with additional Nikon DSLR cameras to provide greater flexibility while on location. This will allow me to capture spontaneous moments without the need to rush and change lenses in critical moments.

I am available for a wide range of photography needs, from family portraits and special events to corporate shoots and custom projects. I am willing to travel and would love the opportunity to discuss your unique photography needs. Additionally, I will soon be launching an online shop where you can purchase prints and support my small, local business.

Thank you for visiting my site, and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any inquiries. I look forward to working with you and capturing the moments that matter most.
